The Broadway Market

As part of our Good Friday tour of Western New York, we went to the Broadway Market in search of a butter lamb for Ellie. I told her about butter lambs and she was anxious to get one for Easter. Ellie actually slept the entire time we were at the Broadway Market but James was ready for action, including checking out painted eggs.

Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens

On Good Friday we went to the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens. I was excited to take Ellie and James there because we used to go around Easter time when I was little. The Easter flower display wasn't as big as I remembered it but the gardens were beautiful overall. Ellie and James had fun posing with the Easter themed decorations and James loved running all over the place. It was a fun little field trip in Western New York.

Elmo Live

We went to see Elmo Live last weekend in Boston with Jessica and her kids. We went to celebrate Max and James's second birthdays and all five kids (ages almost 2 - almost 6) loved the show. James was mesmerized by the characters and the singing and dancing and Ellie enjoyed it too. It was the perfect way to celebrate our two baby boys turning two years old!

Just another Tuesday at work...

Last week, my hosts in Durham, Paul and Stuart came over for their week at our school. Maureen and I left school a little early on Tuesday to show them Newport. It wasn't the best day for touring around Aquidneck Island, but we had a great time and Paul and Stuart thought Newport was beautiful. We had lunch downtown, took them to the Breakers and then we had tea at Castle Hill.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

After our golf outing on John's birthday, we went to Johnny Rockets for lunch. Ellie and James were happy to share John's chocolate milkshake and then we ended the day with cake and presents at home.

GOLF

Our family went miniature golfing on John's birthday (April 3rd). Ellie liked it but James is completely obsessed with the game of golf. The first thing out of his mouth many mornings is, "let's go play golf!" He is truly his father's son and I believe that Grandpa will be quite proud of his namesake's new found passion for the game. James hasn't quite mastered golf etiquette, he preferred putting the ball in the hole manually. At least he has the enthusiasm for the game!

Bring on Spring

We've been able to get outside a little bit this Spring. It hasn't been as balmy as last Spring was but we're making the most of it. Ellie took the bike that Santa gave her for its inaugural ride on our street. One day we went to the closest playground and two of Ellie's classmates were there; she was thrilled!

James the Magic Dragon

Before March Break, James came home from day care dressed in a dragon costume. Sheri thought he was having so much fun wearing it that she kindly lent it to us for the night. James was pretty darn cute in it and I just wish I had this on video so that you could hear him roar.

Florida in March

We traveled to Florida for the second week of my March break and had an awesome time. The weather was perfect, both of the children loved the pool and we all relaxed. An added bonus of the trip was that Erica was down in Palm Beach with Dashel so we got to spend a day with them and we also spent a day with Jen, Corbett and their kids while we were in the Sunshine State. Both Ellie and James loved seeing their NYC/NJ friends while we were on vacation. It was the perfect March getaway!
