JBP's Birthday Weekend: Friday

Mimi, Papa and Bridget arrived last Friday afternoon to celebrate James's first birthday. We went out for a wonderful dinner at Red Stripe. It was a great pre-birthday celebration. The highlight for Ellie was getting to have a sleepover at Mimi and Papa's hotel.

Baker's Visit

We just completed almost a week of dog sitting Baker, the most easy going dog I know. He was such a good boy and we all really enjoyed having him at our house. Ellie wanted to take him on his walks and feed him his meals and James was fine having Baker around. The photos above are of the children with the dog today. James wore his "Baker" sweater and was actually more interested in the television remote. Ellie selected her own attire this morning, in case you couldn't tell.

Bling and a New Seat

On Sunday Ellie let James wear two of her beautiful necklaces. I think he looks like a rapper with his bling on. The name Biggie Smalls seems perfect for him. We went to the Children's Museum that day and took a stroller for one. Ellie wanted to sit in it and James is far too heavy to be carried for too long so she held him on her lap for awhile. He's almost as big as she is!

Max's 1st Birthday Party

It was fun to celebrate Max's first birthday last week. Both Ellie and James had a great time at Gymboree. The highlight for James was his first taste of cake. It was great practice for his upcoming birthday. Happy first birthday, Maximilian!

Happy guy

James continues to be a very happy boy. He was all smiles the other day when he was standing up in his crib. As you can see from the top photo, he loves to ham it up for the camera.

Spring has Sprung

Spring officially arrived about a month ago and we've been so fortunate in terms of weather (so far). It's been great to spend so much time outside with Ellie and James and to see everything in bloom. Ellie's tree, a weeping cherry bloomed last week (it was planted the Spring after she was born) and the photo above is of her checking it out in its glory. James's tree was planted yesterday. I'll post some photos of it soon.

Easter

We had a great Easter (a few weeks ago). Ellie found James's Easter basket under the dining room table and then found hers in the tub. It was a beautiful day and we were able to spend lots of time outside. We got together with John's family in Connecticut and Ellie loved seeing her cousins. When we got home, there was a note from our neighbor saying that the Easter Bunny had left 6 eggs for Ellie to find in our garden so we did an egg hunt to end our day.

Easter Eve

We had Mo, Henry, Zoe, Meagan, Annie and Christine over to dye eggs the day before Easter. It also happened to be John's birthday so we celebrated with a cake later in the day. Ellie wore a variety of outfits that day including pajamas and a bathing suit.
