James is 3 Months Old!

Our sweet boy turned three months old yesterday. He is such a joy, he smiles often and coos and he's a wonderful sleeper. It's hard to believe James is three months old already.

James

The photos above were taken of James on July 23rd.

Pool Pics

We made it to the pool several times this week, which has been a rarity this summer. Both Ellie and James had fun with their friends at the pool. I'm hoping the decent weather continues for the remainder of the summer so we'll have many more good times at the pool.

Circus Smirkus

We went to see Circus Smirkus with Julie, Will and Cate on Tuesday. I thought I'd never take the kids to a circus because I was always worried about how the animals were treated but this circus was perfect because there were no animals. It was very entertaining, all of the performers were children and teenagers. Ellie wasn't too sure about the whole thing, she doesn't like anyone in costumes (Santa, the Easter Bunny, etc.) and it took her awhile to warm up. She eventually did warm up to it but afterwards told me that it was scary. James watched the whole thing from his car seat and my lap; I think he liked it!

Buck Hill Member/Guest '09

We made our annual July trip to Buck Hill Falls this past weekend for the Member/Guest golf tournament. It was James's first time there and we loved introducing him to our friends. Ellie, Katie and Luke played well together and Ellie had her first "sleepover" with them in their bedroom. John and Corbett were thrilled to win their flight and are probably going to spend the next 360 days figuring out how to win the entire tournament.

Pigtails and the Pool

We've been trying to get to the pool as much as possible this summer. Unfortunately, the weather does not want to cooperate with that plan. Ellie's been enjoying the time we do spend there and sported her new hairstyle of pigtails a few times. James and Max are great sports about lounging poolside while their older siblings swim and play.

Mid-July Visitors

We were lucky to have Adam and Kate come visit us a few weekends ago. Although Ellie loved having them here, she refused to pose for a photograph with them. We'll be sure to get one of her with "Uncle" and Kate next time they're here. Jennie came the day after they left. It was great having her here. James and I spent a day in Boston looking at bridesmaid dresses with Jen and we were so excited to meet her new baby cousin, Charlotte (also born in April).

3rd of July Festivities

The Hechts graciously hosted us on the third of July. It was great to celebrate Independence Day Eve with friends. We walked down to the beach after dinner to watch fireworks. Ellie was initially scared by them but warmed up to them. James wasn't phased by them one bit.

Buffalo Visit: Random Photos

We had a great time while in WNY. Ellie and James were very busy while there. James also got to meet Owen, Quinn's younger brother. We're psyched that James has a Buffalo friend too. We also went to Old Man River one night with Mimi, Papa, Grandma and Grandpa. It wasn't quite like I remembered it. There was no pirate ship there for Ellie to play on (the main reason for me wanting to take her there) but she enjoyed the ice cream anyway. We can't wait to head back to Buffalo in August.

Buffalo Visit: Ellie's Pals

Ellie is very lucky to have two friends in Buffalo, Quinn and Balin. She always has a great time playing with them when we're home. We went to the zoo with Quinn and some of her friends while we were home and went to an outdoor concert with both Quinn and Balin. I didn't realize how short Ellie was until she was with these kids, no surprise there! It's so wonderful for her to have playmates while visiting Mimi and Papa's house.

G&G with 7 of their 12 great-grandchildren

The main purpose of our trip to Buffalo was Bridget's graduation party. It was so fun to celebrate with family and friends. Ellie enjoyed playing with her cousins and we were able to introduce James to lots of relatives and friends. We also got to meet Bridget Georger for the first time. Bridget was born in October and is full of smiles. Ellie loved playing with her too!
