Snow Day #3

We had our third snow day of January this past Thursday which was also our fourth unplanned day off this month (the other was due to a mechanical issue on campus). Ellie and James had fun playing outside. Ellie ate her first icicle and when they were inside and cozy in their pajamas, James played with his new favorite toy, the light switch. Oh and we had about a foot of snow so the snowbanks are taller than James and almost as tall as Ellie.

Sledding

We took E&J sledding for the first time last Saturday. Our friends Polly and Jane came with us and the children really loved it. I love the look on Ellie's face in the last photo above - pure joy! It's such a treat to get outside in the snow on these sunny days.

Snow Day #2

Last Friday we had our second snow day of the month. Once the snow stopped, it was a beautiful sunny day and both Ellie and James enjoyed being in the snow. Ellie's favorite thing was making tracks and James really loved eating the snow. Fun times.

Snow Day #1

Our first snow day of the month was on January 12th. I was happy to be home and it snowed so much that John actually stayed home from work too. Ellie ventured outside for a little bit and the excitement was too much for James who passed out while watching a show.

New Year's Day in Newport

We spent 1.1.11 in Newport with our friends. With all the snow we've had the past few weeks, it's hard to believe that we spent New Year's Day on the beach.

Meghan & Mike's Engagement Party

Meghan and Mike's engagement party was held a few days after Christmas and we were psyched to be able to be in town for it. Their ring bearer was around for some photos but their flower girl was too busy playing with the big girls to be in any photos.

Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas in Buffalo. Our photos are a little disorganized, partly because I'm now working with two cameras. John surprised me with a Nikon camera (I've wanted one for awhile) on Christmas so I've got my photos in two places. I have been having fun trying out my new camera with my favorite subjects. Ellie and James didn't get up until about 8:00 am on Christmas morning. They were so happy to see that Santa had come to Mimi and Papa's house. We opened gifts, had breakfast with Grandma and Grandpa and spent the day trying out the new toys. James really loved the train set and Ellie was thrilled to get lots of Playmobil (castle and wedding sets). We had dinner at Kathleen's house and had such a great time with our family. It was a very Merry Christmas!
