As always, we had a great time in Buffalo. Ellie was able to see Balin, her friend who lives next door to Mimi and Papa. We went to visit Quinn and got to meet her new baby brother Owen which was exciting. Ellie also spent some time feeding her babies Cate and Bridget in her aunt Bridget's old Fisher-Price kitchen.
We spent Valentine's Day in Buffalo. We did celebrate a few days beforehand by having a Valentine Party for Ellie's friends but I didn't take many great pictures that day. Ellie loved being with Mimi and Papa on V Day and we loved going out to a movie and dinner that night and having my parents babysit for her.
It's never easy to compromise with a toddler. Ellie is officially potty trained and it's great. However, she does still need to wear diapers at night. Tonight she insisted on wearing her "big girl undies" to bed after I had gotten her ready for bed. You can see from above that we compromised and she was able to wear them. I think Ellie looks like a badly mismatched Wonder Woman and I'm pretty sure she thinks she looks quite fabulous.
We headed up to Boston today to visit the Children's Museum. Ellie was able to explore some exhibits she didn't get to see during her first visit, including the construction zone and the boat room. Her favorite place to be was in the Arthur exhibit where she actually got to see herself on the Arthur show (see photos 4 and 5 above). She also loved playing with the dolls in the Toddler Center.
From time to time, Ellie will find my glasses and wear them around for a few minutes. Barbara was over yesterday and Ellie decided to wear my glasses. She then tried Barbara's on for fun.
There was an International Evening at my school on Friday. I made the mistake of telling Ellie that she was going to a "party" at school that night. She was so excited about it that she didn't nap at day care. Ellie had fun seeing her friends Annie and Henry and seemed to really enjoy running around the gym with no shoes on.
Ellie's new favorite place to read books is our bed. She will flip through any book but has been very partial to the Arthur series ever since we went to the Boston Children's Museum. Mimi and Papa sent Ellie a package of Arthur books which thilled her. Ellie talks about "Arfur and D.W." all the time and loves to pick out the characters in the books.
