Polo
We went to the polo match in Newport yesterday with Dan and Laura and their kids. Ellie was happy to see the horses but seemed to have more fun dancing with Ella and making instruments out of the legs for the mini picnic table. James slept through the entire event. It was great to be outside before we were hit with more rain.
First Week of Summer
We had a very busy first week of summer. Our pool club opened the first Saturday of summer vacation and it was the best day weather wise to enjoy it. Ellie was psyched to be back in the baby pool and James seemed to enjoy his first time there. We spent Sunday in Connecticut at Michael's first communion which I didn't get to take photos of. We went to the zoo with Mo and Henry on Monday.
On Tuesday, we went to the beach house that the teachers from school rented and Ellie had fun with Henry again. Ellie tried playing baseball for the first time.
We went to the Mystic Aquarium on Wednesday with our friends and made a quick stop at the pool that afternoon too. On Thursday, we met up with Jen and Jack at the Children's Museum and unfortunately, there are no photos documenting that outing.

Update
We are officially on summer vacation as of last Friday, although it doesn't feel like it as the weather has been mild. Ellie has been wearing her tutu out of the house a lot lately. She obviously has a flair for fashion. James went to the doctor on Friday and weighed in at a whopping 12 pounds, 9 ounces. I can't believe how fast he's growing. He's also been sleeping long stretches during the night and Elllie's been staying the whole night in her big girl bed alone. Life is good!
We Love Mimi!
Mimi flew in last Sunday and stayed until Wednesday night. While she was here she took care of the kids, treated us to a fun day in Boston, did laundry, read countless books, took us out for delicious meals, gave baths, sang songs, took lots of photos, slept with Ellie in the big girl bed, took both Ellie and James to music class together, went on walks with the kids, did her usual trip with Ellie to the toy store and enabled John to golf 18 holes on Sunday. I can only hope that I have that much energy when I'm 60. Thank you Mom for all of your help, we couldn't have survived last week without you!
Sunday in Beantown
To top off our fun filled weekend, we spent last Sunday in Boston with Mimi. My mom flew into Logan so that she could watch Ellie and James when I returned to work last week. We had a great day that was straight out of Make Way for Ducklings which is currently one of Ellie's favorite books. We rode the swan boats in Gardens and looked for Mr. and Mrs. Mallard on our ride. Ellie also enjoyed some watermelon flavored Italian Ice and was thrilled that it matched her pink dress. It was James' first time in Beantown, I think he enjoyed himself, especially because he got fed on the swan boat ride. Lucky guy.

Last Weekend
Last weekend was fun filled. I took Ellie and James to the Children's Museum on Friday. It was James' first time there and he slept the whole time. Ellie decided that she needed to wear a tutu for our outing. I guess it's a necessary accessory for playing in the water room. We went to a carnival on Saturday and Ellie bravely went down the big blow up slide without her parents. She and Benny had a great time on it.
