Our good friends Jessica and Brian had a baby boy on April 14th. Max is ten days older than James and we are thrilled that they will have each other as playmates. The photos above are from their first meeting on April 29th, at one point James was trying to suck on Max's arm. Both of them have already grown and changed so much since then. We're looking forward to many fun times together with these two boys!
Ellie has adjusted very well to her new role as big sister. When Mimi was here, she picked out some clothes for James and also bought him his lovie, a giraffe.
James came home on Sunday, April 26th. Ellie greeted him in her "Big Sister" t-shirt and was overjoyed to have her baby brother at home. She was so excited, she stayed up late that night and was happy that she and James were both in their "pajammies." James came home weighing 8 pounds and has been growing ever since. 
At 4:42 pm on Friday, April 24th, our son, James Burns was born. He weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces and measured 20.5 inches. We were fortunate to have the same labor and delivery nurse who delivered Ellie and Julie delivered James. Ellie and Mimi were our first visitors and were able to come into the delivery room. We are thrilled about our baby boy!
Happy Easter! We had a terrific holiday with Bridget here. The Easter Bunny came to our house and Ellie found her basket in her big girl room sitting on a new chair from Mimi and Papa. She especially enjoyed eating chocolate for breakfast and putting together her bunny Mrs. Potato Head. After mass, we went out to brunch and then had to send Bridget off to the airport. We spent the rest of the day with John's family and Ellie loved seeing her cousins.
Laura had us over for an Easter Egg Hunt last Friday. Ellie had a bit more success this time; she found more than two eggs. She may have been more interested because these eggs were filled with candy. It was really fun to spend the day with our friends! 
Bridget came to visit us for Easter weekend. We took Ellie to Johnny Rockets for the first time (we really know how to treat our out of town guests!). Ellie enjoyed the music, balloons and even tried her Johnny Rockets hat on.
