Erin brought Sadie to my parents' house for a playdate on the day after Christmas. It was so much fun to have our children play together. Ellie loved holding Sadie and Sadie was very cooperative by letting her!
Actually, these photos were taken on January 5th, not December 24th. Ellie told me it was Christmas Eve which I suppose was her excuse for wearing such, ahem "fancy" attire. I believe that she has ketchup, not lipstick on her face. Classy girl.
We had another great Christmas in Buffalo. It was James's first Christmas and it's hard to believe, but it was Ellie's fourth Christmas. Ellie really got the magic of it all this year and was excited about Santa, the presents and baby Jesus. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year.
Ellie has been interested in doing people's hair as of late. James is her most recent victim. I suppose this is pretty mild in comparison to what the future holds for him. But the poor guy barely has any hair right now. I do have to say that Ellie's pretty good at multitasking; she's holding her baby Cate while "doing" James's hair.
The next few posts will be out of order as I haven't posted anything about Christmas yet (I'm waiting until my mom sends her photos from our time in Buffalo). We were the lucky recipients of another snowfall this past weekend. Ellie and James went for the inaugural ride in their new sled from Santa. James was very mellow during the ride and Ellie was pretty excited. After her sled ride, she made her first snow angels (see photos above) and then went sledding down the "hill" in our backyard.
James turned 8 months old on Christmas Eve. We arrived in Buffalo the night before and he did great traveling. We spent his 8 month birthday visiting Grandma and Grandpa, going to 4:00 Christmas Eve mass at St. Mark and eating Christmas Eve dinner. James has two bottom teeth and seems to be cutting a few more. He's onto only bottles and is eating more and more table food. James is such a big boy!
